Carbado Receives Eby Award for the Art of Teaching |
Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Senior Fellow Devon Carbado received the Eby Award for the Art of Teaching. Each year, six UCLA Academic Senate members are selected to receive Distinguished Teaching Awards. The highly prized awards are presented at the annual Andrea L. Rich Night to Honor Teaching.

Taylor Visits South Africa |
Senior Fellow Paul Taylor recently completed an appointment as a visiting professor over the past semester in the Department of Philosophy at Rhodes University in South Africa. During this time he gave lectures at the University of Cape Town, the University Of The Western Cape, and Fort Hare University.

Senior Fellow Charles McKinney recently received a Rhodes College Faculty Development Endowment Grant to do research over the summer of 2007 on his new book project, tentatively titled "Greater Freedom: The Evolution of a Civil Rights Movement in the Rural South". Professor McKinney was also selected to receive the Rhodes Student Government Outstanding Faculty Member Award.

Carney-Nunes Wins Book Award |
Senior Vice President Charisse Carney-Nunes recently won a first place book award presented by Independent Publisher for her book, Nappy, as the 2006 Book Most Inspirational to Youth. The award was presented in New York City on June 1, 2007 during the Book Expo America activities.
